2007-2008 Lettering Requirements for Westfield Wrestlers:
A wrestler must compile 77 points in a season to earn a Varsity Letter.
Each wrestler receives 1 point for a win, default, or forfeit. A
wrestler will receive an additional 2 points for every pin and an additional 1 point for a technical fall.
( e.g. wrestler pins an opponent = 3 points for that match )
Competing in the following tournaments are worth additional points:
Blue Devil Classic 3 Academic points can be earned by maintaining
Northern Region Classic 3 one of the following grade point averages for
Border War Battles 3 the 2nd and 3rd quarters
Conestoga Valley PA 3 A = 10 B = 5
Battlefield Duals(Hayfield) 3
Eastern States Invit. NY 3 Wrestler that makes weight for every match = 5
Concorde District 3 Wrestler that has perfect attendance = 15
Northern Region 5 Attends every holiday practice = 5
State 10
A wrestler that earns a top three seed in the District Tournament receives additional points. 1st = 5 2nd = 3 3rd = 1
Additional points can be earned for placing in tournaments.

A Varsity Letter may not be awarded if a wrestler fails academically or is removed from the team for any reason!
* Coaches Discretion - may award letter in certain circumstances where criteria was not met.
